Reactive electric spring (RES) is a technique aimed at stabilizing the user voltage in presence of grid variations by means user-encapsulated circuit. In spite numerous papers on matter, no expressions are still available to size RES elements. This paper fills this lack, drawing up sizing procedure them. The starts with targeted investigation operation and exploits outcomes provide for values passive elements as well voltage-current ratings source inverter (VSI). formulated normalized form emphasize their dependence parameters non-critical load. Focus two key-elements, namely AC-side capacitor VSI but AC filter inductor DC-side also sized. Two options discussed. At last, study case supplied low-voltage distribution line considered utilized calculate data. Experimental results, obtained an on-purpose arranged hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) rig, validate procedure.
